Job Description

The Medical Director will direct and manage provider operations for Story Health. The Medical Director will report to the Chief Medical Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex patient care for patients with multiple comorbidities.  See patients in virtual visits and order medical diagnostics and treatments as appropriate. Patient care time will be variable depending on new service/product launches.
  • Manage patient care with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Nurses, and Health Coaches in a team-based environment.
  • Recruit, contract, and manage Story Health’s network of providers.
  • Lead clinical onboarding and training for new hire APPs and Physicians.
  • Lead daily interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Accountable for team performance on clinical outcome and quality of care measures.
  • Perform clinical quality reviews of visits performed by Story Health APPs and Physicians.
  • Design and lead ongoing educational sessions with providers and staff on relevant clinical topics.
  • Serve as collaborating or supervising physician for Story Health Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  • Understand business model implications of services being delivered and design services to fit within business constraints.
  • Direct continuous process improvement for clinical services.
  • Engage with product/R&D on identifying and prioritizing clinical team needs.
  • Manage special projects of all kinds that may come up from time to time.
  • Ensure that patients receive the highest standard of medical care.
  • Represent Story Health’s clinical performance and methodology with customers.
Requirements
  • MD or DO.
  • Prior experience leading teams of physicians or APPs.
  • Will supervise and enter into collaborative agreements with NPs and PAs.
  • Valid medical license and licensing in at least 1 state with ability to become licensed in many states.
  • Experience in the specialities that Story Health products and services are focused on.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
